After checking into the hotel, we were able to take advantage of the spa and wellness, as well as prepare for the next attraction - a dress-up party for Friday the 13th. the date obliged, which meant that the costumes had to be bloody and scary, and some of them were indeed so. 
During the event, we selected the winners of the costume contest: Ania Boiko, Marcin Kolendowicz and Rafal Antosik. They showed creativity and commitment.

In addition to a dance party with a DJ, there was also karaoke, during which it turned out that we have many talented vocalists.
And finally, there was the premiere of our film-the greatest cinematic masterpiece ever: "ALK-Abelló X-Files," which we created during the day. We also had the Oscars Ceremony, where we recognized the winners in 3 categories: 
1. Best Actor - Marcin Chwała
2. Best Actress - Rafal Antosik
3. Best director/special effects- Kamil Stachowski

After a day and night of so many attractions, we returned home the next day full of excitement and happy to have spent this amazing time together.

As every year, the representation of ALK Poland participated in the Poland Business Run charity relay race on September 4. It was a great event in which participants had the opportunity to test their condition during a 4km run and help those in need who are supported by the Poland Business Run Foundation.

The Poland Business Run Foundation helps people with musculoskeletal disabilities. The foundation spreads awareness about people with disabilities and tries to change people's perception of disability. Every year in September, the foundation organizes a special event for companies to help through running!

Thank you for your support of all kinds - your donations, time, and engagement in our “Sandwich action” events.

Let the numbers talk about the scale of your support:

o   7300 PLN collected in our money jars (international transfers included) which were spent on:
o    1 700 sandwiches made and donated to Helping points across Kraków
o    400 instant soups
o    2 000 paper cups
o    2 000 tea bags
o    5kg of coffee
o    Cleaning products, medicines, pet food, bottled water, sweets for kids, and others

We also received money from our colleagues from the Hamburg office (3050 PLN) which was spent on over 320 kg of long-term food products for the “Free shop” for refugees

In total, we gathered in 2022 and spent on humanitarian aid 20 500 PLN from ALK employees all over the world. Thank you again for your big hearts. 

Let’s hope 2023 will be better and brings us an end to the conflict. We promise to continue our support with adjusting it to current needs.
 

The end of the year is always challenging and brings us a lot of work, project endings, summaries, and closings. But it is also a time to feel the Christmas spirit, and festive moods and also a time for some pleasant events in our office life.

After the great Charity Action this year, it was time for long-awaited Christmas gifts for all Employees. As every year, the HR team, with the help of the Local Change Agents Team, prepared a Christmas Gift Catalog. Employees were able to choose a Christmas gift, as well as a sweatshirt with the ALK logo. Children of employees also received gifts.
 

The convention of this year's Christmas Party was quite different- a cocktail party, and all because this year many new people started at ALK and we wanted to get to know each other better and feel a bond. Which certainly worked-never in the history of ALK GBSC have we had so many people at any party :)

Every year, we celebrate Cultural Ambassadors in ALK. They are nominated by their colleagues, endorsed by local management, and finally approved by the Board of Management. The winners are recognized for inspiring their colleagues, going the extra mile, and being truly role models for all of us and for our purpose and cultural beliefs.

The nomination process starts in the last quarter of the year and the results are presented at the beginning of the following year at the Global Employee Meeting.

We are delighted that this time our colleague Rafal (RLAPL) was among the winners. Rafał's attitude, his willingness to help, and his involvement in charitable events show time and time again that he is a true ambassador for our cultural beliefs.

March 2023 marked an amazing event for our Kraków team, as we embarked on an extraordinary journey back in time to the 1923 year when ALK was founded. Stepping into a world of crazy parties, jazz-filled nights, our company's away day was transformed into the iconic ‘20s era.

To stay connected while being apart. This is why we started the ALK Move for Allergy event back in 2020 – and this year Move for Allergy is back in a new form.

Move 100 minutes… and counting
In light of our 100-years anniversary, this year we planned to move 100 minutes – or more – during the week of 19-23 June 2023. Either alone or together in a team. 100 minutes per team member or go beyond 100 and count for more.

You could say that we combined 2 elements during our Away Day. We celebrated 100 years by spending the whole day in a sporty mood, so you could say that Move for Allergy was included. Although we didn't run, there was rock climbing, rope walking, and elements of first aid. At the end- a barbecue party. Just check how great we look in our helmets and climbing harnesses! :)
